Who is Sufficient for these things?

The apostle, Paul, aware of his influence in the lives of others, asks,

“Who is sufficient for these things?”

The implied answer is:

No one — in their own self-sufficency.

and

Every one — in the sufficiency of Christ.

If you feel in over your head today call out, his hand is right there waiting to pull you back up, and walk with you.

I know.  I just called!

“Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.”  (2 Corinthians 2:16; 3:4–6, ESV)

“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5, ESV)

“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13, ESV)
